© Universal Laminators 2010 Universal Laminators' unique Micro-Cut film perforating cutting system is a revolution in laminating technology. It ensures that blades and knives do not approach the sheet material. There is absolutely no possibility of a miss-cut damaging the product.   This system is also featured on Automation Techniques range of Cutlass, Sabre, Scimitar and Rapier Industrial laminators.   Lamination Sequence. The sheet in the laminating rollers passes through the machine until sensors detect the trailing end of the sheet. The sheet is then positioned with its trailing end at the “cut point” and the sheet is stopped here. Whilst the laminator is awaiting the arrival of the next sheet a cutter perforates the film/foil and these perforations precisely match the position of the trailing end of the sheet. When the next sheet arrives the in feed rollers position its leading edge closely behind the sheet in the machine and then both sheets re start. The leading sheet is accelerated and the perforations shear cleanly at the sheet boundary. Cutting to the correct sheet length is not the only issue with lamination. Using Universal Laminators' slitter system, films may be slit to width to suit differing panel sizes. The off cut or trim may be wound to scrap or removed by the operator. The width settings may be by simple hand clamp and scale or set electronically with powered traverse of the slitting blades.
