HPL - High Pressure Laminates
The competitive production of HPL has to be efficient, and our systems reduce labour and increase productivity.
The decorative finish on High Pressure Laminates (HPL) sheets means that damage during transit and handling has to be avoided, and the best way to achieve this is to apply a thin protective film to the surface that can be removed when the sheets reach their destination.
Where HPL Sheets require protective film lamination our comprehensive range of Industrial Laminators are ideally suited to apply a wide range of pressure sensitive films.
Our engineers have designed and very successfully integrated our filming systems for many HPL manufacturers. All of these are designed, in one way or another, to improve the efficiency and increase up-time of the production line, and greatly reduce the manual labour involved.
One of our many repeat clients has purchased three of our systems, the latest is a system installed in the UK which was required to process a large range of sheet and board sizes.
High Pressure Laminate automatic filming system suitable for both
thin Sheet and Compact Board, is built around the high speed Rapier Laminator.
This highly adaptable machine can cope with a large range of both sheet and film sizes, HPL material thicknesses from 0.4mm right up to 30mm thick boards.
The wide size and thickness variations, often coupled with small batch sizes meant that sheet/board handling flexibility and rapid film reelchangeover were extremely important issues.
Whilst the Rapier laminator can accomodate a wide variety of products, it was necessary to adapt to the very different physical characteristics when handling thin sheet and thick boards.
To optimse sheet/board handling we designed and integrated two very different loading and stacking systems to efficiently feed of the material through the system.
The StackerBoss
Compact Boards are loaded and stacked by our StackerBoss pick and place machines:
Heavier and thicker Compact boards from 4.0mm<20mm in thickness and up to 300kg in weight
Sheet size widths - 950mm up to 2000mm
Sheet sizelengths 1500mm up to 4400mm

The SheetMate
Thin sheet is loaded and unloaded using our SheetMate feeders:
Thin sheets 0.5mm UP TO 3.0mm are loaded and fed by the SheetMate feeder.
